Anthony L. De Lancey D.D.S.
Zachary A. Kouri D.D.S.
Dr. Zach Kouri graduated in 2003 from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. He has been heavily involved in organized dentistry throughout his career, starting out with the Des Moines District Dental Society, where he served as President in 2012. He was awarded the Iowa Dental Association (IDA) New Dentist of the Year Award in 2012, and moved on to IDA leadership and served as the Des Moines District Trustee from 2016 through 2019, and became the IDA President in 2021.
He has been involved in charting the future direction of the IDA and the Iowa Dental Foundation (IDF), serving on the Strategic Planning Committee for both organizations. He also served on the Medicaid Committee, Legislative Committee, and the COVID-19 Reopening Task Force. He appeared in both the Washington Post and USA Today in 2020 regarding COVID-19 issues in dentistry. He currently leads the IDA Wellness Committee.
Dr. Kouri has also been involved at the American Dental Association level, including successfully introducing an amendment to support sedation for the pediatric community. He has met with many politicians on both the state and national levels to advocate for patients and dentists, and was awarded fellowships in The Pierre Fauchard Academy and American College of Dentists in 2023. Most recently in 2024 the University of Iowa College of Dentistry Alumni Association presented him with the Dental Service Recognition Award.
He has been heavily involved in community outreach as well, including Donated Dental Services, the Stand Down & Smile Squad, and four dental missions to Jamaica. His true passion has always been the Iowa Mission of Mercy (IMOM), and he has been the Clinic Chief since 2015 and the IDF President 2021-2024.
Dr. Kouri is grateful for the privilege to work with some of the best staff and dentists, and considers his dental journey to be a true joy. He and his wife, Dr. Lona Kouri (Scott), have two wonderful children, Matteo and Zara. The Kouri family enjoys traveling, biking and sharing weekends with great friends and family.
