Cosmetic Dentistry
At Ingersoll Dental Group, we are pleased to offer several cosmetic dentistry services in Des Moines, IA, that allow our patients to improve their appearance and confidence. If you are interested in transforming your smile, keep reading to determine which services may be right for you.
Dental Bonding
This procedure enhances your smile via the application of tooth-colored resin materials. Dr. Anthony De Lancey or Dr. Zachary Kouri apply the materials to the desired tooth. People choose dental bonding for its lower cost compared to other procedures and to disguise minor imperfections with their smile.
The tooth-colored resin materials applied by Dr. De Lancey or Dr. Kouri change the shape of a tooth to make it appear more uniform with the others. Dental bonding can also disguise common issues like stains, chips, cracks, and large gaps between two teeth.
Specialty Dentures
Our dental manufacturing team creates traditional and specialty dentures for patients based on their X-rays, dental history, and personal preferences. Traditional dentures replace all natural teeth or two or more natural teeth on the same arch. Our team also creates several types of specialty dentures, as described below.
All-on-4 Fixed Dentures
Before you receive these dentures, Dr. De Lancey or Dr. Kouri place four implant screws in each jaw. The implants then hold the dentures in place permanently.
Immediate Dentures
If you need to have your teeth extracted, we provide you with a set of immediate dentures until your mouth heals. Once healing is complete, we work with you to create a more customized set of dentures for permanent use.
Implant-Retained Dentures
Alternatively known as snap-in dentures, these dentures attach to implant posts that Dr. De Lancey or Dr. Kouri screw into your jawbone with a dental drill. One clear advantage of implant-retained dentures is that they do not require you to cover the roof of your mouth with hard plastic as traditional dentures do. You also retain more bone strength with these types of dentures.
Teeth Whitening
The process of aging, along with lifestyle habits like smoking or drinking a lot of coffee, can make your teeth appear yellow or brown instead of the bright white you enjoyed as a child. Professional teeth whitening can increase the brightness of your smile by up to 10 times. Ingersoll Dental Group offers in-office and at-home treatment options for your convenience.
Veneers
Do you have a cracked, chipped, or misshapen tooth that makes you feel self-conscious when you smile? Perhaps you have a large gap between your two front teeth or want an alternative to professional teeth whitening to disguise badly stained teeth. Veneers, which contain porcelain and other materials, look like a small shell you might find on the beach.
Your dentist needs to remove a small amount of enamel before applying adhesive material to your tooth and placing the veneer on top of it. This is to ensure that the tooth with the veneer does not stick out further than the other teeth. The entire process takes less than one hour to complete.
White Fillings
Do you hesitate to smile because of the metal fillings in your mouth? If so, consider having them replaced with white or tooth-colored fillings instead. You can also request that we use white filling material for any new cavities that you develop.
